The Five Domains of Mind Longevity

After a comprehensive review of the research, we have identified over 100 factors that are known or likely to impact mental function.  These impacts may be positive or negative, direct or indirect. We have discovered that all of these variables can be grouped into one of the five areas. These groups of information form the 5 Domains of Mind Longevity in which we find the governing rules for lifetime cognitive fitness.

The 5 Domains of Mind Longevity are:

  1. Go Mental
  2. Get Physical
  3. Get Connected
  4. Address Stress
  5. Take Care of Business

1. Go Mental addresses the mental, cognitive, or intellectual activities (or lack thereof!) and certain emotional/stress factors that may impact your mental function and longevity.

2. Get Physical outlines in detail the many physical components of your mental fitness and ability. These include a number of medical conditions, nutrition, exercise, exposure to brain toxins and other factors that have a lot to do with how well or poorly your mind works. Mind and body cannot be separated!

3. Get Connected speaks to the importance of being connected or "in tune" with yourself and others for a healthy mind at all stages of life. Your relationship with yourself, your friends and your family have a powerful effect on your quality of life and overall longevity.

4. Address Stress reveals stresses in your life that may cause mental strain and dullness. Certain factors in this domain may determine whether or not you cope with stress in a way that is beneficial for maximum mental sharpness as you grow older.

5. Take Care of Business helps you understand aspects of your job, legal issues, and finances that may be either helping or hurting the inner workings of your mind and brain.

These 5 rules, or domains,  include everything you will need to reach your personal best for lifelong mental vitality and longevity.
